“Magic”
in FFLK We were discussing a special effect that happens at our meetings and various events. Each person does a small amount, like preparing a special casserole, making a report, getting that “just right” dessert, or putting up tables and chairs. You add up all the elements that went into the event. And guess what? The final effect is always much more than the sum of the elements. It’s more fun, more surprising, more enjoyable than you could ever imagine. We experienced this magic again at the wonderfully successful International Wine and Cheese party. Katie Foley and Martha O’Bryan put a lot of work and love into the event. We thank you, Katie and Martha! And many thanks go to all the other members who added their generous contributions. We’re very grateful for our Friendship Force chapter. We have many supportive and cheerful members whose involvement really makes the difference. Come, contribute, and enjoy the “magic.” We’re looking forward to seeing you all at the Veteran’s Memorial Park in J-Town on Thursday, July 9. Terry and Mary Rose Smith will get one of the pavilions for us. Our picnic will begin at 6:30 PM under one of the six pavilions. Our chapter will purchase chicken for the picnic dinner. For the potluck dinner, please focus on appetizers, casseroles, vegetables and fruits, salads, and desserts for your contributions. And be sure to bring your own drinks and lawn chairs. We’ll have a very short meeting to bring you up to date on our activities. Why don’t you ask some friends to join you? It’s a great opportunity to demonstrate our “Friendliness” and entice new members. |
