A
resounding success. Thanks to the cooperation of our members in
FFLK and those from Dayton,
we successfully hosted another exchange here in Kentuckiana. The Meers'
brought with them the ideal Ambassadors.
Although the stay was short, they were kept quite busy.
We hope they were able to learn a little bit about our area and had fun at
the same time.
The venues for this exchange included the
Derby Museum,
Speed Art Museum,
Metro Hall,
Howard Steamboat
Museum, Falls of
the Ohio, American Printing
House for the Blind, and
Locust Grove.
The live performance at the Farewell Party was provided by
the
always entertaining
Louisville
Dulcimer Society. This exchange emphasized the history and culture of Louisville and Southern
Indiana, and I think we were successful in teaching our visitors about what a
wonderful place we live.
Thank you to each Home Host, Dinner Host, Day Host and their backups for
their time, money and effort. The refreshment committee, led by Rose
Duke, did a wonderful job setting up,
executing, then cleaning up after the
Farewell Party.
Thanks
to the 95% participation by our chapter members. This was an exchange to
remember. With the cooperation of Ambassadors & Hosts, we kept a tight
schedule thus optimizing the short time available for their visit.
I
have to give special credit to Minnie Anderson. When one of the Home
Hosts had to
withdraw due to a family emergency, Minnie did double duty and stepped up to
Home Host as well as put on a Dinner.
We hope to see our Ohio friends again
soon when we visit them in Dayton.
