A selection committee has identified 20 Ambassadors from the Louisville area for our club’s exchange with Bristol, England, in September 2009.  Another four people are on stand-by status.

Our Bristol contacts are still working on their details of the exchange.  They tell us their club is eagerly looking forward to our visit.

The initial interest in this exchange was astonishing – more than 40 people indicated a desire to get more information.  This clearly demonstrates a pent-up desire to participate in more Friendship Force exchanges.  If you still want to join an exchange, we encourage you to check with the FFI website (www.thefriendshipforce.com) to learn about other clubs’ exchanges.  If you see something you would enjoy, contact the exchange director(s) to see if they have room for another Ambassador.  It could be fun to travel with another group and make another set of friends.

 For our Ambassadors to Bristol, we will be in touch with you by e-mail for up-and-coming information.  We’ll let you know about the balance of payments due on June 15.  At this stage, we’ve been able to get a slight reduction in costs – though we are always mindful that other surcharges could be imposed.  This summer, we’ll have an informational meeting to prepare ourselves for the exchange.  We’ll notify all Ambassadors of this date as soon as we can make a survey on your availability.
