Bristol, UK, Outbound Exchange

EDs: John & Jeannie Vezeau

Bristol, UK

Dear Friends …

You might want to know more about the Friendship Force of Louisville exchange with Friendship Force of Bristol, England, in September 2009.  Click on the colored links for additional information.

Members have indicated an interest in becoming an Ambassador for the Friendship Force of Louisville exchange with Friendship Force of Bristol, England, in September 2009.

We are delighted to send you further details about this exchange.  The two attachments to this article will outline the details.  One attachment is the Flyer with information about dates, cost, and trip highlights. The other attachment is a detailed Itinerary for the second week.

As of now, the Bristol exchange directors have not finalized their schedule for the week of the exchange.

Deadline for Application & Deposit:  March 20
If you would like to become an Ambassador on this exchange, please review the attachments carefully.  As usual, you will need to fill out an application form for each person.  Please send completed forms and a non-refundable deposit of $225 per person to John and Jeannie Vezeau by March 20.  Make the check out to “Friendship Force of Louisville.”

Please note: The Bristol club can only handle 20 Ambassadors, and we have a longer list of interested people.  If you are placed on the waiting list, your deposit will be refunded until you become an actual Ambassador for this exchange.

Application Form
Please download the application form from the FFI website.
(For those without e-mail access, we have included the application form in the packet that we're mailing to you.)

Travel Insurance
You must purchase your own travel insurance.  FFI has a good relationship with TravelGuard.  This insurance will cover pre-existing medical conditions if purchased within 15 days of the date of your deposit.  This is a good buy, especially if you are 70 years old or older.  Here is a link to TravelGuard on the FFI website:

Another travel insurance, Travelex, is available from Platinum Travel in Louisville.  Contact Laurie Bisig at Platinum Travel (502-425-2400) for additional details.  Of course, there are many travel insurance companies out there, and you may want to select another one. Please feel free to do so.  The bottom line is that FFI requires all Ambassadors to have travel insurance.

Air Travel
We have selected Northwest Airlines for our group travel because they offered us the best roundtrip rates.  You will be able to get Delta frequent flier points because of the merger of these two airlines.  Reservations have been made for 20 Ambassadors

Pictorial Tour of Areas to Be Visited
We hope you are as excited as we are about this wonderful exchange to Bristol – and the remarkable second week that we have designed for you.

There’s something for everyone here!  Wonderful sights and sounds, history and famous people.  A breathtaking railroad trip through one of the most scenic areas in all of Wales.  Medieval towns and charming villages in the Cotswold region.  Cathedrals, castles, and thatched cottages.  The best of "The Heart of England."

To whet your appetite even more, here is a link to a Visual Tour of the areas we will experience firsthand in September.

First Deadline: March 20
Please act now! Send your application form(s) and a non-refundable deposit of $225 per person to John and Jeannie Vezeau by March 20.  And remember, if you are not among the 20 Ambassadors for this exchange, your deposit will be returned to you.

We will be glad to answer any questions you may have about this exchange.  Please feel free to call or email us.
