We have just received a notice from the Friendship Force of Bristol, England, that they have selected an Exchange Director.  We’ve contacted them, and they are eager to have us for a visit.  We’re recommending an exchange during the second week of September.  We have agreed to work in earnest on this exchange right after the first of the year.  Bristol needs to work on their schedule for September.  And they need to canvass their membership to determine how many Ambassadors they can actually accommodate.  

In January, we will be approaching several travel agencies to determine the actual cost of airfare and ground transportation and a desirable/affordable “second week” after the Bristol exchange.  

Right now, we have a list of 40 FF people (from Louisville and other clubs) who have shown a preliminary interest.  This is an enthusiastic response!  We will keep all these people informed as we gather more details.  Bristol has told us initially they usually accept 20 Ambassadors, so we will serve Louisville members first … then, as space allows, FF people from other areas. 

We’ll report on this exchange at the general meeting on Thursday, January 8, and share with you any other information as we get it.
