Spring Hill, FL Inbound Report Cheryl Kinberger Fourteen Spring Hill members arrived on June 2 for five days of activities around the Louisville area. On June 3, after a free day to rest and get to know their hosts, the evening ended with a Welcome Party at the home of Rose & Len Duke. Our guests "loved the idea of a welcome at the historic cabin complete with details about the people and land." Tours through the week included our state Capitol, Buffalo Trace Distillery, American Printing House for the Blind, Locust Grove and the Derby Museum. A night of entertainment ("Father of the Bride") at Derby Dinner Playhouse was enjoyed by all on Friday. After the Farewell Breakfast on Saturday, the rest of the day was free to see last minute sites and pack for the flight home Sunday morning.
Thank you to all home hosts for being a part of my first exchange. Some of you had challenges with your Ambassadors, and you handled the situations superbly. Thank you to all day hosts for stepping in when needed…to all dinner hosts…to all members who helped with the Welcome Party setup and clean up …to Jeannie Vezeau who led one of the Locust Grove tours…to Mary Alice Blanton who provided the Derby Museum tickets. Without help from everyone involved, this exchange wouldn’t have been successful. A very much deserved thank you to my right hand man – Chris. I planned the schedule, but it was Chris who called and made the reservations. While I worked most of the week, Chris took care of the details associated with the Florida visit and drove to all activities. What a team effort…and we’re still together!
